Trestle Hotel

A Magnetic Place (Coming 2027)

A Magnetic Place

The Trestle Hotel bridges Marquette’s storied past and its unfolding future, drawing on the region’s iron-and-rail heritage and the enduring pull of Lake Superior’s wild edge. From warm gathering spaces to trailhead-close rooms, every detail connects the traveler passing through to the people who call this place home.

100 South Lakeshore Drive

For decades, this stretch of Lakeshore Drive has sat as an empty private parking lot — and now presents a new opportunity on one of the community’s most storied sites. Long before it was pavement, this land was alive with activity: a working trestle servicing the adjacent ore dock and a bustling harbor that helped build the town we know today. The Trestle takes its name from that history, honoring the site’s industrial roots as it steps into its next chapter.

Now, we’re excited to bring this vacant space back to life. The Trestle will be an 80-room hotel with restaurant and event space under Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, designed to feel like it belongs — thoughtfully scaled and detailed to complement the surrounding neighborhood.

Beyond the rooms themselves, The Trestle is designed to be a good neighbor to downtown. New visitors mean more foot traffic for local shops, restaurants, and businesses year-round. The project also includes a new parking deck, replacing today’s surface lot with structured parking that serves both hotel guests and the public, adding capacity for downtown visitors alike.

By activating a long-vacant site, The Trestle helps knit this stretch of Lakeshore Drive back into the everyday life of downtown, supporting the kind of walkable, active streetscape the community has been working toward. We look forward to sharing more as the project moves forward.
